Psychological Benefits of Exercise: How Exercise Boosts Your Psychological Health

Psychological Benefits of Exercise: How Exercise Boosts Your Psychological Health

We all know that exercise is good for the body. However, did you know that there are also psychological benefits of exercise? These benefits can really have an impact on your health and performance in the long run. Unfortunately, not everybody takes note of them.

These psychological benefits of exercise can help you become a better person. Starting from the inside, their effects will ultimately show on the outside as well! If you’re ready for a positive transformation, then read this article!

1) Good Mood

One of the psychological benefits of exercise is the absence of sudden mood swings. After a while, you’ll begin to feel happier and will generally be in a good mood for longer periods of time.

]]>

Experts speculate that this positive effect has something to do with the person’s knowledge that he or she is doing something healthy for the body. The chemicals released by the brain also help uplift your mood.

2) Less Stress

Another psychological benefit of exercise is that the person becomes less stressed. He or she finds it easier to deal with challenges and unexpected problems.

If you’re someone who exercises regularly, then you’ll be less prone to frustration or disappointment. You’ll be more proactive and start performing better at work in general.

It probably has something to do with the fact that exercising releases endorphins in your body which are responsible for making you happy.

3) Better Self-esteem

You’ll also develop a better self-esteem. After a brief run or aerobics exercise, there’ll be a certain glow about you. Your cheeks will sport a natural blush making you look alive and healthy. A lot of people feel great after exercising, and this is probably what contributes to a person’s self-esteem the most.

Exercise does not only give you physical benefits. There are psychological benefits to exercise which a lot of people overlook. Perhaps if more people took the time to go to the gym or jog around in the morning, there wouldn’t be too much of a need for anti-depressants and even cosmetic surgery.

Lose Weight Exercise Made Easy

Lose Weight Exercise Made Easy

Lose weight exercise is important if you want to attain your weight loss goals as well as reaching a suitable level of physical fitness. The more regularly you do exercises, the less difficult it is to maintain your weight.

Getting enough sleep is really essential. Exercise is more easily undertaken if the body is rested from a good night’s sleep. Exercising during the daytime when you have had inadequate sleep is not easy.

Here are a few exercises to lose fat which are not only beneficial, but can also be pleasurable:

1. Walking.

Perhaps the easiest lose weight exercise of all is walking.

Walking 30 minutes a day 5 times a week will be the most beneficial, depending on your fitness level. There are not just health benefits to be gained from walking briskly, but there are also psychological benefits as well.

2. Walk the treadmill.

Walking outdoors when the weather is bad can at times be unpleasant. Using a treadmill for walking indoors is just as good as walking outside and in fact can be much more convenient. There is the added benefit, depending on where you place your treadmill, of say watching Television at the same time as you do your weight loss exercise.

]]>

Why not turn a sedentary activity such as watching TV into a healthy walk at the same time!

3. Skipping Rope.

Do you remember skipping when you were a kid and how much energy it required – jumping rope is regarded as one of the most effective exercises to lose weight? Your heart rate will increase when rope jumping, helping you to get rid of those pounds and toning up your thighs and buttocks.

This is one of the simplest and yet most effective lose weight exercises that you can do if you are trying to burn fat off the body.

4. Rock Climbing

This is probably for the more adventurous. All parts of your body are exercised with rock climbing, helping you burn fat generally rather than from particular areas. Indoor rock climbing has become very popular and is almost certainly safer as it is conducted in a controlled setting.

5. Training with Weights

Weight training helps with burning fat while building muscle.

Make the time to exercise to lose weight and become fit and healthy.

Most of us find it difficult to set aside or find the time to do exercises. That is why health experts advise a basic guideline for incorporating exercise into your schedule. Find a schedule that enables you to do exercises without undue interference with your work, family and social life. Don’t forget that not only are you benefiting yourself by losing weight and keeping fit, but your health is a benefit to your family as well.

These exercise tips are easy to follow and put into practice, however don’t disregard that they have to be done in conjunction with a proper diet plan if you are to achieve your weight loss and stay physically fit and healthy.

Its a good cardio vascular exercise. 10 minutes of jump roping is equivalent to 30 mins of jogging. Its far more effective and also teaches your body coordination while harnessing your reflexes.

Q&A: Anyone know/have the shoulder workout routine (“Bulletproof Shoulders”) from FIGHT Magazine’s Oct. ’08 issue?

Question by got_some_questions: Anyone know/have the shoulder workout routine (“Bulletproof Shoulders”) from FIGHT Magazine’s Oct. ’08 issue?
I’m recovering from a shoulder/back injury @ the moment, and I can’t find this issue. Brought this up to my PT, and she’s welcoming anything focusing on my back and shoulders that she’s already not putting me through.

It’s the issue with Michael Bisping [with hair] on the cover (article is titled “No More Mr. Nice Guy”).

The article I’m looking for is titled “Bulletproof Shoulders: Pack a better punch by incorporating these simple shoulder exercises into your routine.” I’ve searched the internet and got zero results.

I’d just simply like to know what the suggested routine contains, and if I’m already not going through it with my PT.

If you have this issue nearby, I’d greatly appreciate it if you can share the routine with me.

Thanks in advance!!

[P.S.: Feel free to share any other routine(s) involing the upper back and shoulders that you think will help me out during this time period!]

I’m sure your PT has you doing all the basic strength, stability, and ROM stuff to rehab your injury, but some less conventional exercises can be very helpful. Depending on where you’re at with your progress ask her about stability ball roll-outs (emphasizes strength and stability development of back and shoulders) and hindu-pushups (emphasizes strength and ROM of shoulders). If you can’t complete a full roll out or hindu pushup at this point in time, your PT should be able to modify the exercise to match your current ability. Good luck!

What do you think? Answer below!

What would you recommend?

Question by Fun1: What would you recommend?
So, if you only had three rules to help a person get in shape, gain some muscle and lose some fat, what would you recommend. And not like, “eat right,” “lift weights,” and “do aerobic exercise.” I’m looking for more specific examples.

What three things are imperative to being an in-shape person with a moderately good-looking body?

Answer by Bryan F
1. Increase sex
2. Change something in lifestyle… i.e make your own drinks
3. Put a hot poker on the seat so you dont sit down for too long!
