Sole E55 Elliptical Trainer (2009-2010 Model, DISCONTINUED)

Sole E55 Elliptical Trainer (2009-2010 Model, DISCONTINUED)

  • Features a 27-pound flywheel and dual-action functionality for an upper and lower body workout
  • Grip pulse monitoring and heart rate chest strap; oversize and adjustable foot pedals
  • Sixteen resistance levels and ten programs for a challenging workout
  • Offers a 20-inch stride length, LCD display monitor, cooling fan, and water bottle holder
  • 350-pound maximum weight capacity; measures 82 by 27 by 68 inches (L x W x H) when assembled

Enjoy an efficient full-body workout without heading to the gym with the Sole E55 elliptical trainer. Boasting a heavy 30-pound flywheel, a high gear ratio not found on most comparable models, and a pair of upper body handles, the E55 delivers an extremely smooth workout with plenty of top-end resistance. Users will also appreciate the unique oversize and adjustable foot pedals, which were designed in collaboration with a leading physical therapist and sports enthusiast. The pedals are not only extra large, but also feature a 2-degree inward slope that reduces the ankle and knee stress that’s common in other elliptical machines. The collaboration also produced a revolutionary foot pedal angle adjustment not found on any other elliptical. Taking into account that not everyone walks the same way, Sole engineers made the E55′s pedals adjustable to fit the way you walk. This also reduces the likelihood of numb toes and sore Achilles tendons.

Workout specifics include 16 resistance levels, 10 total programs (including two custom and two heart-rate programs), and a 20-inch stride length. Perhaps the handiest feature from a user perspective, however, is the easy-to-use electronic console, which integrates a blue backlit LCD display, a cooling fan, and a water bottle holder. The E55, which offers a maximum weight capacity of 350 pounds, carries the following warranties: lifetime on the frame, five years on all parts and electronics, and two years on the labor.

Specifications:

  • Assembled Dimensions: 82 by 27 by 68 inches (L x W x H)

About Sole
Sole brings over twenty years of treadmill and fitness product design and manufacturing to the table in their line of innovative equipment designed for fitness-conscious people. The company’s treadmill line is simple in design, with an emphasis on quality and warranty all at a great price. Sole’s easy-to-use treadmills offer a great value and feature a convenient, space-saving portable design. The treadmills have a very stable base with four wheels for ease of movement, folding decks to conserve space, and a 30-year motor and lifetime deck and frame warranty. Sole is always looking for ways to make their equipment better, more efficient, with higher quality at a great price.

About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.

Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won’t strain sensitive joints.

I owned a Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill for few years. It was repaired several times after suffering electrical and mechanical problems, but never again ran properly.
After disappointing customer service with Bowflex, I did a research online and came to the conclusion that Sole was definitely the way to go. I purchased the Sole f80 to help me continue my training through the winter months, and anytime the weather is poor. I hate running in snow, ice, and cold weather. I have had it for less than a month and I can say I am very impressed.

It’s heavy. I would highly recommend you to go with “Inside Delivery” as the size and weight of the box makes it extremely hard to move. I had to take the treadmill base out of the box and have two men carry my F80 downstairs into my basement.

Anyway, assembly was very simple, quick and relatively.

The Sole F80 treadmill is very sturdy and has many nice features (quick speed-incline keys in increments of 2, iPod plug-in, storage wells on each side of a console, etc.). In reading through the reviews online, I didn’t see many people who had actually used the predefined workouts. I have used quite a few of them already, and they are excellent! You should download a PDF on Sole’s website that contains the details of every setting and how they are influenced by maximum top speed that you set and length of time for the program that you set. I personally use the Fatburn, Hill, Cardio and Strength programs but look forward to the user defined ones as well.

The wireless heart rate monitor is great, and I can’t imagine not having it. For me, it has been very accurate. You do need to read the directions with the monitor to place it properly underneath the pectorals and to wet the monitor sensors. I have never had a problem with it being off since I have started doing this.

There is a slight delay between speed or incline changes about 5 seconds, but I find this helpful for me because it allows me to adjust and prepare. The incline changes are elusive and smooth.

The speakers are good. I use them with my iPod, and it works great.

When comparing my ownership experience with both treadmills, I recommend the Sole F80.

Bowflex Series 7:
1. 20×60 running surface (better for tall runners)
2. Stylish console, but not easy to use
3. 3.0 hp motor gets the belt to full speed in about 2-3 sec
4. Speed and incline controls only on the console, not on handles
5. No countdown before the belt begins to move
6. Metallic handrails (this can cause static electricity shock)
7. It must tip or lean treadmill backwards to move
8. Warranty: 10 yrs motor, 2 yrs electronics, only 1 year labor

Sole F80:
1. 20×55 running surface (good for most people)
2. Console is functional and easy to use
3. 3.0 hp motor gets the belt to full speed in about 6-8 sec
4. Speed and incline controls located on handles AND on the console
5. 3 sec countdown before the belt begins to move
6. Hand rails covered with rubber compound for better grip
7. Treadmill slides along ground without tipping or leaning
8. Warranty: lifetime on motor, 5 yrs electronics, 2 years labor

My only complain with the Sole F80 is what I would call a slight hum at speeds lower than 2.0mph. I sometimes notice it (always at 1.0-2.0mph). It sounds like a motor whine like it’s dragging-laboring but the sound goes away after a speed is increase a little.

This machine is great! I feel you will not be disappointed if you invest in this quality machine and use it regularly for what it’s meant to be used for.

Sole Treadmills ? A Professional Way to Train

Sole Treadmills ? A Professional Way to Train

A Sole treadmill is a fitness device that is used within the house. This device can be found in some of the best hotels in the world including the Hilton hotel chain. Everything about it is designed to stand out as a professional product. All its mechanics and settings were created, tested and checked by experts in the fitness industry.

Those who think that they are using a lot of money at the gym or that they are being forced to drive for long hours just to get to the gym can buy one of these products for their own fitness objectives in the comfort of their home.

The Sole Company that makes the treadmills has been supplying treadmills for many years. They always put customer satisfaction first and that is why their products have been the most sought after on the market today.

]]>

Those who doubt their products should know that they offer a lifetime warranty of the motors in all their treadmills and on the deck as well. Since they are assuring their customers a lifetime warranty, then it would only be fair for them to use the best parts in their treadmills. That, plus the twenty years of expertise that they bring to the market makes them a force to reckon with when it comes to the personal fitness industry.

Their treadmills might be simple in terms of design but the engineers always ensure that they have top quality components installed in all their fitness products. Their partnership with Hilton hotels has made them the preferred choice among all the other hotels and as a result they have been able to create a trend whereby all the hotels that need treadmills always go to them. By the look of things, the trend will continue and it is very unlikely for it to change.

If you want to exercise in your home, then all you have to do is get yourself a treadmill and start working out in the comfort of your own home. For those who think that the Sole treadmills might be expensive. Then you are in for a big surprise. You can get one for as little as 9 which may seem a lot at first but if you weigh it up against travel to and from the gym over the year and also the monthly fees you pay you will see it pays for itself very quickly.

Sole S77 Treadmill Review

Article by Greg Davey

The Sole S77 Treadmill is a non-folding treadmill designed for use in the privacy of your own home. The frame is made from welded steel which has been powder coated for increased durability. It has a large 3.5 horsepower motor and heavy zinc-coated balanced flywheel for a smooth running motion. Controls on the armrests and built in cooling fans are also included with this treadmill.

Sole S77 Treadmill Specifications

Vibrant 9-inch LCD display with integrated speakers and audio cable *

6 standard workouts, 2 custom workouts, and 2 HR-controlled workouts *

Sole S77 Treadmill has a 400-pound capacity; measures 32 x 80 inches (W x D); weighs 280 pounds

Sole S77 Treadmill Reviews The Sole S77 Treadmill is a non folding treadmill so it is probably more appropriate for a dedicated home gym as you cannot reduce the amount of space it takes up by folding the jogging platform up. The reviews we found for this treadmill were mostly negative.

First of all most people recommend paying for the delivery and setup of the treadmill as it is very heavy and cumbersome to move by yourself. One person reported spending two hours assembling the treadmill even with a helper. The holes on the plastic arm pieces would not line up properly making the assembly frustrating and the finished product look cheap. The poorly written instructions for the Sole s77 Treadmill were not very helpful because parts are not labeled properly and there is no detailed drawing to show were all the parts go. Another using also reported some missing pieces but did say Sole did ship out the pieces the same day after contacting them.

Once the treadmill has been assembled all reviewers said it felt solid and well made with a nice large running surface (22 x 60 inches) but there were still more problems. Three customers reported rubbing noises from the belt which can quickly lead to fraying and permanent damage. One cause of this was a loose screw that had been stripped during the manufacture of the treadmill at the factory. This shows the quality control is not very good.

The main complaint about the Sole S77 Treadmill is the fact that it can take up to 45 seconds for the treadmill to change speeds if you want to speed up or slow down. This can be a huge problem if you are tired and try to reduce the speed, you may end up getting thrown off the back of the treadmill if you can’t keep up until it slows down.

The TT8 is outfitted with a host of additional user-friendly features, including six auto workout programs, four custom programs, and two heart-rate control programs for cardio or weight loss. When in heart-training mode, the treadmill automatically makes adjustments to the incline to keep you in your target heart-rate zone (the treadmill comes with a wireless chest strap with a 99.9 percent accuracy rating). And users with creaky joints will love the Cushion Flex treadmill deck, which is built to protect your knees from excessive pounding, with the ability to reduce impact up to 40 percent compared to running on asphalt. Other details include a double-woven two-ply running belt; armrest speed and incline controls; and armrest cooling fans. The TT8, which offers a user capacity of 400 pounds, carries the following warranties: lifetime on the frame; three years on the motor, deck, electronics, and wear items; and one year on labor.

About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.
