About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

Many treadmills offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting cardiovascular benefits without requiring a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.

Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Many elliptical trainers include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won’t strain sensitive joints.

High Quality, Basic Model, December 27, 2008

I have had this treadmill for about a month. Setting it up was fairly easy and only one of the pre-drilled holes was not aligned perfectly. It was off just a tad so I had to work the screw a little more to make it go in. The treadmill is the most basic model this company carries, but they are very well known for high quality.

    Pros
    -VERY quiet
    -excellent, smooth walking experience
-light weight (about 100 lbs) compared to others
    -solid, quality product
    -4 preset programs
    -incline
    -foldable
-the front handles are ideal for placing a board across so I can surf the net (2 mph) or watch a dvd (3 mph) while I walk.

    Cons
-probably best for walking instead of running.
-The on button is in the front of the unit, low, where the motor is. It’s a pain to have to turn it off and on everytime I want to use my treadmill. When I leave the on switch “on” it beeps at me every 5 min. to remind you to turn it off. I have never tried to keep it off for a long period of time to see if it will go into sleep mode or somthing like that. So it has to be powered down every time you use it.
-incline is manual (you have to get of the treadmill to adjust it by hand)
-the mph is in .5 increments. I prefer to be able to go up .1 or .2 at a time.
-no hydraulics when folding it up. If you drop the platform while trying to fold it, watch out, it will come crashing down and can cause harm. This is one area they should not have cut back on. Too much liability. I keep the platform down at all times so it is not an issue. However this can be a serious issue for an older person or someone who has children.

Overall I am very pleased with the product. I had to give up some of the extras to afford a quality machine. You could spend the same amount of money for something with a lot of bells and whistles, but you might end up with a loud, clunky machine with a belt that always goes off center all the time. That is a description of my last machine.

Update: It has been almost a year and I am still very pleased with my treadmill. I have not had to adjust the belt, it is not making any weird sounds or losing parts. It is still as reliable as the first day I got it. I actually have run for short periods of time and it works well with that, but I’m small (5’0 woman, healthy weight) so it may shake, rattle and roll with a large 6’0 man.

This machine is exactly what I was looking for. It is low cost, yet high quality. Having a treadmill comes in very handy this time of the year when it is just too cold to go outside. I walk/jog for about 30 minutes per day on my 715T and have not had any problems. The features aren’t overwhelming, and it has the prefect amount of programs for me.

Only had this machine for about 4 months. The motor is speeding up for no apparent reason. The company will not honor the year warranty on the motor. They expect me to pay for a repair person to come to my house to find out whats wrong. This machine should be on recall because it is very dangerous. I am 68 years old, and I am scared it is going to throw me off. I do not recommend buying this machine. Cheaply made for the price. Save your money for a better machine.

I’ve had this product assembled and in use for about 2 weeks now, and so far I’m quite happy with it. It seems sturdy and it’s comfortable to use. The assembly took about an hour and a half with two people–without a second person you’d be doing some juggling but it would be possible. If you have trouble with dexterity or hand strength, I would definitely recommend getting someone to help you put it together because some of the pre-installed bolts are very tight and a couple of the locations are a little tricky to get to. The assembly directions were fairly clear, and it includes the tools you’ll need. I got a 7ft long mat for it to sit on, though you could probably get away with a 6ft mat. It runs smoothly and quietly. We’ll see how it performs over time, but so far I’d say it was worth the price, and I intend to be using it on a daily basis.

This is my second elliptical. My first by Sportscraft I wore our in 4 years.I’ve had this machine for 2 weeks, so far I’m satisfied. The programs, of which there are 8, give me a good work out. Besides a minor squeak that has developed, maybe because I need to tighten something, the machine runs smoothly. I bought the 725E because the advertisement on Amazon stated it had a 14.3lb flywheel and in my research discovered the larger flywheel gives a smoother workout. This is not the case. The 725E has a 10.4lb flywheel, same as the 715E. The only difference between the machines 725E has to be plugged in 715E runs on batteries.

I bought a really cheap one that lasted about 3 years and then the belt snapped. I liked it but I hadn’t owned an “expensive” one. So I upgraded to this elliptical and what a difference. The movements are smooth. The programs are really effective. And I am surprised at how comfortable the stride is. On my last one it was so small my heels would catch on the back wheel. This has a large area for movement yet doesn’t take up a huge footprint like some of the other ellipticals out in the market. Really great product and the price is great. The box is heavy when delivered but my delivery guy brought it all the way up — (elevator) and into my loft. And ladies, it was very easy to assemble. It me only took about an hour.
