Bettering myself: how can I lose 50 pounds?

Question by Chryshaun: Bettering myself: how can I lose 50 pounds?
Hello everyone,
Im 18 and a university student,
Im 5ft9in tall , 190lbs
…And I wanna lose weight!

Easier said than done I know,
But for once Im sticking to it.

I would like some tips on
what kind of things I should eat,
what kind of work outs I can do..
What morning routine I can do..

I havent had P.E since middle school so my body
is totally non-flexible atm (I cant touch my toes anymore =[ )

Id like to put this into action right away,
Spring break is coming up and i’ll have tons of time to workout
and also I wanna work out in the summer too!

I was considering buying wii fitness, but then realized
its a waste of money when I can just google “exercise tips”

Im open to ANYTHING
Morning runs, yucky foods, etc.

Im not sure what the average body weight for my height is
but Id like to be 150 again.

I used to be a tennis MVP in HS and totally let myself go
and I dont want this body/lifestyle anymore =(

the most i ever weighed was 210 and now I weight 190
I did that by limiting how much I eat and drinking no soda!

But i know that the weight can come back cause I do not have a plan

Can someone make me a plan? PLEASE!!!

Thanks so much in advance!!
-and also, what are some snacks i can eat in the morning when I wake up, and at night before bed?

Answer by ??????????
I can help, I’ve started losing weight and I lost 8 kilos in 3 months.
All you do is –
1. Stay Away! from sugar foods and fattening foods.
2. When you eat meals make sure that they are salad but in the morning try eating stuff like
- Nuts
- Tuna/Fish
- Pasta
or anything else that has good carbohydrate and protein. If you look on the back of a tuna packet, you will notice it has higher protein than nearly every food.
3. Exercise by doing 10-20 push ups and 10-20 sit ups in the morning before breakfast.
4. During the day start going for runs after you eat – (you will notice you eat more because you are more active, that is FINE!) If you don’t really want to do that than at least for two runs during the day both at least 500m. Or make it both 5-10 minutes.
5. Drink roughly 3-4 litres of water a day because when losing weight you have to drink more water than the average person because it is like rapid detox and stuff like that – it flushes your body from the detox and stuff. (except rapid detox is bad for you).
6. You don’t have to follow this but it is recommended! If you want a soda you are better off buying regular than diet because regular makes you gain at least 90 grams fat while diet poisons your body. I prefer fat over poison because you’re losing weight anyways!

~ Hope this helps you in the long run! :) ~

Buying A Treadmill – 3 Essential Tips

Article by Kathryn O’Neill

Buying A Treadmill ? 3 Essential TipsIf you’re buying a treadmill, chances are you’ve done lots of research already. You probably know exactly what makes up a high quality treadmill and have an idea of which features you want in your unit. But even with this knowledge many people still fall prey to slick treadmill deals that end up costing them in the long run. In order to keep that from happening to you, here are 3 essential buying tips to make sure you choose the very best treadmill for you. #1) Not All Treadmill Brands Are Created EqualI recently had a gentleman e-mail me asking for advice on which treadmill he should buy. He had narrowed it down to 3 choices:Choice #1: Brand A: 2.5 HP motor 9Choice #2: Brand A: 1.75 HP motor 9Choice #3: Brand B: 2.0 HP motor 99He asked me which treadmill I would buy. He was clearly leaning towards Choice #1. This was the natural choice for most people and it makes sense: get the most for the least. Or get the most motor power for the least amount of money. However, my answer surprised him. I told him if it were my choice, I would go with Choice #3: Brand B for 99. Here’s why:Although the motor power is lower than Choice #1 and the price is higher, Brand B makes an overall better treadmill. Why?Brand B has a reputation for making high quality treadmills and backing them up with extensive warranties, including 10 years on the motor. It can afford to give such lengthy warranties because it knows that it makes a quality product that probably WON’T break down – even in 10 years.Brand A on the other hand offers a 90-day motor warranty. What does that tell you about the quality of parts?Although motor power is a good feature to consider when buying a treadmill – you have to be careful. Look at it in the context of the whole treadmill – including the brand. Not all treadmill brands are created equal. Some treadmill brands use extremely high quality materials. Others well, don’t.Make sure to look beyond just the bare numbers when choosing a treadmill. Look at the whole picture to find the best treadmill for you.#2) Don’t Always Believe What The Salesperson Tells YouGet it in writing. This isn’t to put down any salesperson – but they are human. They do make mistakes, and sometimes this can end up costing you.I had another lady e-mail me asking for advice on choosing a treadmill. She’d narrowed it down to several and was leaning towards one in particular (let’s call it Treadmill X).She had been told by a salesperson in the store that this Treadmill X (for 9) came with a lifetime warranty on the motor. This lady was smart. She was looking at the whole treadmill picture. The price was excellent. The motor power was average (1.75 HP). And who can pass up a lifetime motor warranty? But wait a minute.I was fairly familiar with this treadmill brand and knew something was off. This particular treadmill brand never gives lifetime motor warranties – ever. Not even on their commercial treadmills. So why would they offer a lifetime motor warranty on one of their economy treadmills?I voiced my concerns to her and wasn’t surprised to hear back a couple of days later that the salesperson had actually been mistaken about the lifetime warranty. If she had bought this treadmill simply based on what the salesperson said, she might have gotten a nasty surprise – especially since this particular treadmill brand is known for being extremely costly to repair.Don’t always trust what the salesperson says. Make sure to get it in writing before you buy!#3 Forget the Price Tag – Look at the REAL Price Of The TreadmillPrice is probably one of the most important factors when buying a treadmill. But sometimes the price of the treadmill can be misleading. For example, let’s say you’re looking at Brand A in a store with a price of 9. Pretty good price right? A much better deal than Brand B – sold online – at 9.But look closer at Brand A. Brand A only comes with a 90 day parts and labor warranty so you need to buy added coverage. You pay for a 2 year extended motor warranty. So Brand A’s total cost is now 9 (with a 2 year motor warranty)Brand B is still 9 (with a 10 year motor warranty already included)Overall, you figure that Brand A is still the better deal since it’s cheaper. But look closer. You need to pay shipping costs for Brand A. Shipping costs from most stores usually run you about 0.Brand B, since it is sold online offers free shipping (most online treadmill sellers do).So Brand A’s total cost is now 8 (with a 2 year motor warranty)Brand B is still 9 (with a 10 year motor warranty)With Brand A, 9 has gone to buy the treadmill, has gone to buy the warranty and 0 has gone into shipping. With Brand B, 9 has gone to buy the treadmill (warranty included). So which treadmill do you think actually gives you the most value for your money? And don’t forget that many online treadmill stores don’t charge sales tax. The store that sells Brand A does. That technically makes Brand A MORE expensive than Brand B.So when comparing treadmills, make sure to consider the TOTAL COST of each treadmill before you buy.By keeping these 3 tips in mind when purchasing a treadmill:- Not all treadmill brands are created equal – Don’t believe what the salesperson tells you – get it in writingand- Look at the REAL price of the treadmillyou’ll be well on your way to choosing the best treadmill investment for you. Good luck and have fun!

Q&A: How come Obama used a felon for an example to extent unemployment benefits?

Question by Barry Marx: How come Obama used a felon for an example to extent unemployment benefits?
Obama unemployment news conference featured Va. woman convicted of drug fraud
By: Lynn R. Mitchell

A simple background check could have saved the Barack Obama administration from the latest embarrassment after his news conference last week that urged Congress to extend unemployment insurance. By the President’s side at the White House were three Americans who had lost their jobs and who would need the extension when their benefits ran out.

One of the unemployed was Leslie Macko, a Charlottesville, Va, woman who reportedly had been dismissed from her job as an aesthetician at the spa of the Atlantic Coast Athletic Club (ACAC) in Albemarle Square, according to Charlottesville’s CBS 19:

CBS19′s Jessica Jaglois has learned that Macko was found guilty of prescription drug fraud in March 2009, one month before Macko lost her job at ACAC. She served a one year probationary sentence.

Macko joined two other unemployed people and President Obama at the podium for a speech designed to encourage lawmakers to extend jobless benefits.

“We need to extend unemployment compensation benefits for women like Leslie Macko, who lost her job at a fitness center last year, and has been looking for work ever since. Because she’s eligible for only a few more weeks of unemployment, she’s doing what she never thought she’d have to do. Not at this point, anyway. She’s turning to her father for financial support,” Obama said in his speech.

Ed Morrissey at Hot Air asked questions that are have been brought up by others who were puzzled at the White House’s latest lapse in vetting:

Why is our money going to support a convicted fraudster? And why can’t the White House do research, for crying out loud?

Answer by Sock Monkey
If she was fired for prescription drug fraud HOW in the hell can she even collect unemployment ???

Let’s start with that one.

EDIT: What Anna and Greg fail to realize is that if you’re that close to the President they check your background. Or do they ???
